Telling your Story – Plotting and Planning
Jenny is the author of multiple Young Adult fiction novels. We were lucky enough to have her run one of the first Jugiong Writers’ Festival workshops in 2015. With terrific feedback from participants, we are delighted to welcome her back in 2021. Jenny’s knowledge of writing techniques, character development, dialogue, plotting and finding inspiration, is a must for all budding authors.

Sulari Gentill
Crime and Historical Fiction
Sulari is an award-winning author of ten published novels, who has attended every Jugiong Writers’ Festival as a speaker. In her historical fiction workshop, you will explore bringing history into a narrative, in the crime writing genre. Historical fiction is about setting that idea in a time and place that has existed and been recorded. Learn the historical novelist’s art of weaving a new story into the old and intertwining imaginary plots into actual events.

Marty Boyle
Writing Comedy & Drama
With the invention of the word processor, Marty turned from ceramic artist into local playwright. Playwriting is the ultimate genre for portraying sharp dialogue and in this workshop Marty will share his knowledge about writing both comedy and drama into both playwriting and fiction.

Lena Elphick
Looking Back – how to conduct research
Lena is a passionate researcher and published non-fiction author, who will share her tricks and tips on utilising the internet to further your research. A must for anyone wanting to find out about and write up their family history or gaining information for fiction and non-fiction works.
